Not young rats. Voles!

lol. Thought my cat had killed a couple young rats. But they didn't really look like rats....ears were almost non-existent. Did some research this morning and finally figured it out. Voles. That also explains the tunneling in the front yard. I think.

My cats dig those nasty little critters up right out of their tunnels, then the play with them until they die :/ they're so icky looking!

Yep - I know about those. We have them all over our place. When I bush hog the pasture, they go running into the neighbor's pasture to hide. Our dogs have dog craters in the backyard trying to get to them. Had the dachsund run into the house with a dead one in his mouth - blech!
