Now that the Mansion is finished, I am now building a Chicken Duplex!

I finished my chicken mansion, and now realize that I need more room! I am getting some more babies and know that they cannot go out with the older birds for awhile. Initially they will be in the brooder, but I have decided that a duplex is just what I need. The young ones can go in one side and the other side will house my extra roos. I will post pics when it is done. It won't be as big as the mansion or quite as elaborate, but it will be nice.

I am having so much fun building chicken housing!

While you are converting the mansion to a duplex, I would surround it with a "Taliban Motel " to descourage the local carnivores from helping themselves to the little nugets and dumplings.

I am not converting the mansion to a duplex. The duplex will be a totally separate unit. For security, both the mansion and the new duplex are/will be sitting on concrete patio stones (16"x16") so predators cannot dig underneath the sides. Also, the predator would have to cross the pasture and back yard to get to them and get by my little equines as they are actually surrounded by my mini mules and mini horses. I am sure my mini mules would run down any predators and possibly stomp on it. So far, so good.
