I had a hen sitting on the nest for 10-days without any eggs under her. I marked 11-eggs with script pen with date on it. one eggs was older, so after a 2-weeks, she kicked ti out of nest. I always petted my hen everyday when I went into the coup. Now another broody hen has joined her, and peck me when I went to pet on them. The original hen eggs or scheduled to hatch around Aug.2. I had 13-pullets I raised from bought eggs, now 14-weeks old, and they were combined last week with adults, all doing fine and getting along. I combined them early to make reday for the new hatch, along with hen. The brood pen has a private shaded outdoor covered run, with solar dusk to dawn automatic door. Brood Pen and run or separated with 1-inch chicken wire gates, and fenced, so they all can see each other.
Question:Should I take just the marked eggs, and guess which was the friendly one and separate them into my brood pen, or just wait and let nature work it out?

I'd move the the original broody and her marked eggs to a separate spot where only she can sit on them.

It's done, what a ruckus. I ran em out of the brood nest area, shut the gate, ran all the rest out of the coop except the two nesters, and shut both automatic Pullet it Shut automatic doors, and made the move. The other hen had scratched out 3-4 more marked eggs ontop the pine needle covered coop floor. One of the pullets was laying on them. Now the nesters are in separate places with now two broody hens. If all works out I will maybe have 20 +, -, hens and or roosters coming on.
