Hi. Couldn't find this answer, or topic... so I hope it's not a repeat.

I want to apply to NPIP. I live on 2 acres in the country. Middle of no-where. My yard backs up to a 40 acre cattle field. I'm on a dead end road. ..... but I'm zoned residential. Really. Not any special use, just straight residential. Our whole road is... and just our road. My family owns the homes/land around me, so there would never be any complaints about my chickens.

Will the NPIP tester pull my zoning? Would it be an issue?

I have some beautiful chickens and would love to ship eggs/chicks. I would also like to begin showing at the fair.

Thank you. :)

Who knows why any individual does anything? I don’t know what the NPIP protocol is in Florida, each state is different, but there is no reason for the tester to check your zoning unless Florida rules tell him to. He is not a policeman, he is a tester. If you are in the middle of nowhere like that why would he assume anything different?

Here in Arkansas it’s not that hard to become a tester yourself. Twice a year classes are offered. If it’s that important to you and you are really concerned (I would not be) you might look into handling it yourself.
