Npip?

From what I understand only certain states require it. We are taking it in April, they only have it here twice a year

I'm not sure what the "legal" answer to your question, but I believe honestly that the "moral" answer is yes, if you want to sell your birds or eggs, even eggs for consumption, that you should participate in the program IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.

Its a good program that provides us some reassurance that our poultry are free from Salmonella and generally in a healthy environment.
