Number of nests

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but....

I was thinking I was probably going to put 8 nests in the new coop, but then I saw a thread that made me think maybe I didn't need that many. In the last coop, I had 17 hens and I think I usually had 3 nests in there (they were removable). But maybe it was four.... I can't remember! I think it was three.... Anyway, if I have a max of about thirty hens in the new coop, should I give 6 or 8 nests?

Hello! I've always heard you should have one nest box for every three hens. Now, I know that many isn't really necessary, so I'm thinking you should use 8, and that will be plenty.
