Numbers galore!! 1.....2......3....2......what???

Well, i have a number game for you, see if you can figure it out!

1 is 3, 3 is 5, 5 is 4, and 4 is the magic number

Why is 4 the magic number and how did i get those numbers??



(i know this isn't a continuous game.... but i wanted to see who could get it.)

Just think about the numbers and why they are each other. Start with this

1 is 3

3 is not 1

3 is 5

hummm...

That was tough for me being a mathematician. I want to put equals signs in between

Ok here's one.
You just bought a new house and have three light switches down stairs that belong to three lights up stairs. Being lazy, you only want to make one trip upstairs to see which switch goes to which light. How do you do it?

turn 2 light switches on. Then, after about 15 minutes, turn one of the switches off. You go upstairs, if the light bulb is cold, it's the switch that never went on, if the light bulb is warm, it was the one you just turned off, if the light is on, you have your answer.
