Nursing Chick

I put a few in brooder with the one I was had feeding and it still cries out. It will stop for a moment then it starts back. I decieded to let the others show him to eat if he doesn't by end of day I will feed him. Not gonna let him starve.

OK after more research and watching him. I think he is blind. It doesn't react to my hand in the brooder. It cries out for the others and he can't seem to find them. I dipped his beak in water but he goes no where near it when I out him down. I peck on the food with my finger it didn't seem to notice and when the others eat or drink it cries out for them.... I don't wanna cull him yet and mostly won't just for being blind he had already made it through shrink wrapping and curved toes. I gave him electrolytes yesterday and a little nutri drench today. He looks like he just hatched while the others have gotten a lot bigger. He just sits there unless I put my cats bed in brooder for him to be in he just cries... I am about to the pount I am about to see if my cockitiels will adopt him in. Dumb Idea but they at least feed their young for so long and when he cries out one of them starts crying out too.

So sorry for you and your baby! I was curious how it went with the cockatiels..

I've got a cemani that's blind in one eye, and he is the sweetest little bird ever.
Well so far one is still wanting to cuddle with me. It ended up it was

Well with this one I felt there was no other option but to put it down..... Later when I was having same issues with an AC I did more research and now I am angry at the person who told me to put it down because all it ended up being was over tiredness from other chicks wouldn't let it sleep. So I put down a perfectly healthy chick for nothing. From now on nature will take it's course.... People are to quick to jump to putting down when unknown issues arise. Now my second one who was acting same way is fine.... Though quite attached to me because of all the nursing I went through with it trying to keep from doing the same thing to it..... After he had a good long nap it was fine..... Next time some one tells me to put one down I am going to invite them to come do it causeI won't!
