So one of my old ladies, Maybelline started hanging behind everybody. Still haven't really figured out what's wrong with her. She was looking bedraggled and very skinny, and was laying on her side and wouldn't stand up. But with no apparent signs of any kind of sickness I could zero in on. Gave her some ivermectin 3 days ago and I've been giving her cat nutriCal because when I picked her up she felt like a skeleton with feathers. I've been giving her that once a day. But I'm also making her homemade chicken healthy food. She has definitely perked up. She's starting to move around and act normal again but she's still got a lot of weight to gain. Do they make anything like that for chickens? I know they make water additives and stuff like that. But something more along the lines of a high calorie vitamin rich paste that you can swipe a glob in their mouth to get some nutrients in there when they're in desperate need? Is it awful to use the cat version in a pinch or is that okay for a power packed supplement until she catches up? Wish I could figure out what was up with her but I'm just glad she is perking up and going back to normal!
