Hello all! Sorry it has been a while since I have been on. I wanted to share my experience with my first year hatching baby chix. I have a Light Brahma roo with 8 hens, light brahma, jersey giant, RIR, 2 EE, 2 BR and a blue rock. I was hoping to get at least one from each hen.. I saved 18 eggs for this adventure .. during candles I noticed 2 were not fertilized and unfortunately I dropped one EE eggs while candles 😭.. it was fertilized and I was devastated. That being said I ended up with 15 fert eggs of what I thought was all girls variety. Last Thursday I candles them for the last time looking for blood rings, for which I found none. To my surprise, with 2 days left of incubation, they started to hatch! On Sunday my first baby was born! Over the next 24 hours I was overwhelmed and utterly ecstatic that all 15 hatched! I will posy a few pics from today but will not post all the pics I have taken since Sunday lol it almost looks to me like I didn't get a RIR baby but the combo with my LB roo maybe just made it lighter? Also, a majority of them have feathers feet!I love my new babies to pieces and am amazed that I am the one that did this and can share it with you all 😊😊
