I didn't see many if any stories of pets so I thought I'd post one of our cat Nyx. It may be a little short or long depending on how much I can write.
Around 1:30pm on April 9th 2017, Nyx was born under my bed while my parents were on a trip. I had woken up a little after 1pm that day to Spooky screeching but she seemed fine when I had checked her before leaving my room to get a drink of water. I had come back to hear mewing underneath the bed and when I looked I saw the most beautiful kitten ever. From that day on, I helped Spooky raise Nyx as I had done in 2016 before with Nyx's 4 half-siblings. Spooky trusted me so much that she allowed me to pick Nyx up not long after she was born.
1 week after Nyx's birth, Spooky had begun to leave her with me more often as she wanted 'me' time. The first time she left Nyx with me, she had literally dropped her on me while I was trying to fall asleep. Nyx cuddled up near my chin and purred a little while she began to fall asleep with me. I had begun to sleep in a certain position to allow her to sleep with me in bed so I wouldn't crush her by accident.
By the time she was 3 weeks old, I began to take her out into the living room to let her meet the others. She got along well with her two half brothers, Lotus and the now deceased Stewie, and our elder cat Moses(8 this year). She only met our other elder cat, Fanci(almost 13yr) a few times as Fanci hates the other cats.
Nyx bonded with me completely by the time she was 8 weeks old. She didn't really like being anywhere in the house without me nearby. She still doesn't.
We learned by this time that she was a NFC mix. I was surprised when we learned this as I had only seen her father a few times outside. The NFC in our yard was the only male cat around so it was surprising to learn it was the only cat to impregnate Spooky.
Nyx had grown very close with her half brothers, especially Stewie before he died on July 18th 2018. We're all still sad about it. I don't think Nyx ever realized that he was truly gone.
Nyx is now a spoiled brat who likes to scare the dogs. She went from a cute little bean to a spunky brat who is picky about what she eats.
