I screwed up, BIG TIME!!! Recently I got a Still Air Incubator from Tractor Supply Co. (Boy, was I excited!) I had warmed it up over night so I could use it the next day. I Checked all of my eggs by candelling em' and put all the fertile eggs in the bator'. My hens had already been brooding the eggs for a while and we bought the Incubator so we could give them a little help. When our birds started sitting, we had 19 eggs. When we took them all to put in the incubator, THERE WERE 57 EGGS!!! 40 OF THEM WERE FERTILE!!!! I found out that they were laying and brooding at the same time! So anyways, to my surprise, When I was candeling the eggs, 2 were peeping!!! I could here there little peeps in the egg and I went through the roof with excitment!
So that night, those 2 eggs began the hatching... but the temp in the incubator began to seriously flux when I took off the top so I could put the eggs in the momma's nest. (We give the eggs back when they begin to hatch so the moms still want to except the babys.) So the rest of the night I had to go up to my room and change the temp and I aimed to do that until it got back to 99.5' F. Then 1 o'clock am rolled around, I checked the eggs, lowerd the temp, went back down stairs and watched T.V.... Then the unthinkable happend; I fell asleep. I woke up at 5 o'clock and had a spazz attack! I ran up stairs as fast as I could and looked at the temprature... it was 120' F.
I am now extremely sad because now I dont know if the eggs will make it or not, does anyone have any advice, knowledge, or a personal experience on this? Please give me some feedback... Thnx.
