Just before the godawful blizzard hit here I stopped at Walgreens to pick up raisins for the chickens.
Since I was going to be housebound, I decided to make oatmeal raisin cookies too, but couldn't find chocolate chips at Walgreens.

Rather than make another stop, I bought some of the Walgreens brand chocolate-covered raisins - $.99 a small bag.

Guess what - they made yummy cookies

2Dogs,

About 3 years ago the wife was working at a Convalescent Home and one of the residents was having a historic birthday (100), the wife asked me if I would bake her a cake and maybe some cookies that staff members could eat. No problem, started making the old Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip cookie recipe (which calls for ground up oats) and ran into the box of raisins on the shelf and said to myself SELF, WHY NOT ?? Really a remarkably good combination - chocolate chips, oatmeal and raisins... As you said definitely a D'OH Moment. Just follow this recipe and use the suggest addition of raisins (at the end of the recipe). SOOO GOOD

I always use chocolate covered raisins. It kills two birds with one stone.
Sometimes I use yogurt covered raisins, chocolate covered blueberries/cranberries. Just for something different.

I was so happy this morning when I got on the scale and I had lost four more pounds. Now... what...must.. I do ...augh. need crunchy yummy cookie!
