oats?

i've been using a palm full of raw oats to get the chicks to like me more. they love them.but i also have been reading and seen that raw oats were bad.is it really going to hurt them using a palm full as treat now and then?

Where did you read oats were bad? You need to make sure they have grit to help grind the raw oats up in the gizzard so they can digest them.

this is my first year trying to raise chickens and i been reading alot on different sites.one of the sites i came accross said to always cook the oats.so far i think i have a group of nice looking healthy chicks.can't wait til they all start laying.
