Objects in egg WHITE

I cracked an egg tonight that had some little red things in the white (it had them in the yolk too, but I know what those are) are these just blood spots too? I threw the egg out, but is it safe to eat?

I believe them to be blood spots, we have some that way sometimes and we just discard the egg!
But I am no expert!

They should be perfectly safe to eat. The spots are usually from blood vessels in the ovaduct. They can be more common in pullets laying their first eggs, and in older hens.
