Odd Coturnix Quail questions

The 30% is good for chicks. Once they're fully grown, though, you want to change feeds to something lower in protein. The flight conditioner isn't going to have enough calcium for layers, but you can deal with that by offering crushed eggshells or crushed oyster shells on the side.

$28/bag is expensive for a bag of feed, even here in SuperExpensiveLand. Feed prices are rising a lot due to wheat shortage, though.

Those prices are unfortunately where things have gotten to. I use Hudson feeds from chewy.com. The multiflock game starter is like $24-25 for 50lbs, but just a month ago it was $21 and change, a few months before that $20 and change. If you order $50+ you get free shipping, so that’s what I do. I’m very happy with Hudson feeds, their gamebird feed is pricey, about $33/ 50 lbs, but I’ve loved it. They have another game option, maybe quail/pheasant feed, but I haven’t tried it. With current gas prices, it’s especially nice to not have to drive to the feed store.
