Odd Egg

Has anyone ever had a egg with a pattern on it? This is a new chicken to our flock but her previous owner said they had had a run in with a raccoon three nights prior to her laying this egg. This pattern does not exist in any of our nest boxes. It is on both sides of the egg but more pronounced on the side which I photographed. She actually laid two eggs on this day. The other has no pattern.

It is called as flatsided egg, and it can be cause by a fright.

Thank you for your prompt response. I thought it was very odd. We only had these hens for two days so I figured it had something to do with the raccoon attack at it's prior home. (In truth, I thought my husband was pulling a prank until I realised it was a real egg.) Poor hen.

I think those odd/weird eggs are pretty neat, as long as it doesn't indicate illness.
