Hi all,

I have a sweet little Old English Game Bantam who snuck off and brooded a nest of six tiny eggs in our garden, right outside of the chicken yard. We only found her nest on Tuesday, and decided to leave her there because she was in a very protected location, and we were going out of town the next day. We returned home yesterday (Friday) to find her with at least 3 tiny chicks that still show an egg tooth. We can hear their tiny peeps but it's hard to see exactly how many have hatched since they are under her wings. Momma and chicks sound very content.

I want to move her and her brood to a safer location in our greenhouse, which I use to raise chicks. How do I go about moving them all? She is sitting very tight on the nest still, so I don't want to pick her up because I don't know if she is still hatching chicks.

I have read through many of the previous threads, but would really appreciate some advice of anyone can help.

-When should I move her? What is the best way to move them all?
-What type of set-up should I move her to?

Thanks!

Gayle
