I've recently started dating a boy named Audie.

This would be completely acceptable were my duck's name not Augie.

Either he changes his name or gets used to being called the duck's name.

I see no other option.

My horse and my best friend's boyfriend are both named "Dakota". It get's awkward when I start talking about all the fun Dakota and I had... at the rodeo, by the lake... Or when I teach Dakota new tricks! That's awkward, too. He can get used to it.
