IM feeding Dumor layers pellets 19% protien. A friend say's they need a higher protien feed. Is that true ?

Lori, 15% to 19% is usually referred to as the standard for crude protein in layer feed. Nutrition for Backyard Chicken Flocks,Alabama Cooperative Extension

I feed a 20% ration mostly so that I can add other things without depleting the protein to an unhealthy level. Seems like I've read that 12.5% is adequate IF the protein is well-balanced. I don't know anything about Dumor feeds but surely a 19% ration is sufficient.

edited to ask: Does your friend say why they should have a higher than 19% protein feed?
