Since they're out, I usually do patellas as well. Have been noticing some trouble with luxation in Rotties.

Fingers crossed, the last dogs I did were Good to Excellent!

I have never heard of a Rottweiler with patellar luxation, altho I do know a couple of people who have had patellas done on their dogs. According to the OFA, 285 Rottweilers have been screened for PL, with a normal percentage of 98.6.

Compare that to the number of Rottweilers that have been screened for HD (over 89 thousand) and elbows (over 11 thousand), and I don't think PL is an issue in the breed.

Chemical restraint is not recommended for the examination to determine Patellar Luxation.

Yes, I know. The dogs I am talking about are the ones I see at my boarding facility. You know, the "pet quality" ones sold to the public. Some are well bred, others aren't. Remember, OFA doesn't publish all the results. I've seen several Rotties with patellas just a waving. Also some Dogue de Bordeau and Goldens.
Most of my IWs are done without any anesthesia, for Penn Hip you have to knock them out. Have you ever done PennHip? I've been wondering if I should try it. I remember going to some of the first seminars when it started up in Pennsylvania.
Hope you get some good news!!

For some reason they only emailed the left elbow. I should get the rest tomorrow. The veterinarian said he looked outstanding on both ends. An excellent is possible, more likely a good, which normal is enough for me.

Here is the left elbow. I will put the others up when they come tomorrow.
