Husband is sending the meaties to freezer camp. Instead of happy hatching vibes, could you send positive processing thoughts?

It's our very first batch and I'm too...um...chicken...to be out there.

I processed my first chicken over the weekend all by myself. I sent my DH and DS off to the lake because I didn't want anyone around if I fouled up. My MIL called and said "I can't believe he went off and left you to do it alone". I had to explain to her that I sent him away, lol.

It was easier than I thought it was gonna be. There were a few things I need to do better next time but I think I got a grasp anyhow.

Sending good processing vibes your way

Are you kidding me? It's more like who hasn't told me.

Now go gut a chicken. Don't wear any gloves either. It's a primal thing.

THey're doing a great job, thank you. I'm going to take out a gut bucket for the bits to make stock with. I may watch the second thing.

You can have all the primal joy, you silkie eater you.

Don't worry, when I processed the meaties last year I was unable to kill the birds.

I did animal rescue for years with my duaghter, she even had the agriculture dept. visiting her on a bi annual basis.

It was quite a time in her and my life. We saw alot of horrid and unhumane things.

Since then, I have found a respect for animal life that probably goes beyond most.

I still hate goats though, can't seem to get over that.

So, it is very difficult and I really have to have a good incentive to kill an animal.

After the deed was done, I was OK with the rest of it. It was sorta primal to pull guts and feathers. Just could not take the heads.
