This girl isn't going to win anything, but she'll give it her best shot! This is Little Nancy, not to be confused with Big Nancy. She's an EE who lays brown eggs. She's three years old, and this is her worst molt yet.

Here is poor Mildred earlier this Fall. Should have taken a video to capture her staggering around like a drunken sailor. Thanks to folks on this site whose posts reassured me she wasn’t dying!

Ouch. She is looking scraggly. She might win, you know.

This is my momma hen Black Velvet when she was looking lovely and being a great mom.

This is her now! Not so velvety.

She can't even get up on the roost so I lift her up each night and put her between two of the larger birds to keep her warm as it is quite cold now and snowy. Bad time to be molting.

Chipotle has decided to enter. I've been getting daily pictures. Not sure how bare she's going to get, but she's looking very small, pathetic, and ratty. Even her comb looks deflated.

I'll have more pictures in daylight today. I had to take roosting pictures to show the bare spot on her chest.

Daylight photos of Chipotle. She *looks* sorry and pathetic in her naked state with her deflated comb, but she's so active and busy it's hard to get decent pictures.

(The Brahma is Dumpling, my previous entry, who has recovered her feathers gloriously now).

More Chipotle. Tailfeathers are coming back so this is probably as bad as she's going to get.

This bird is the first time I saw or even heard of "hard molt".... I was freaked enough to post in the DISEASE forum!

Here's how she looks a couple days after the first pic I posted in this thread.

I was wrong about Mari molting a couple months ago. So, so wrong.

Here she is Thursday, getting some grass in before winter arrives fully. She lost 90% of these feathers since Monday.

And...today. Oh, Mari.

She's very cold. I made sure she got some extra scratch this morning, but it's hard not to bring her in!

Fourth Place - @wolfinator​

My one Amberlink hen, she's molted the worst so far and the only one that's noticeable. Even her underside looks the same. She started about 3 weeks ago when I was going through something very stressful. She's one of my 3yr olds.
