So have some eggs incubating, first time hatching :).

On a different note there has been some strange happenings in the coop...finding several broken eggs in the same exact spot, far away from nest boxes...long story short I have a chicken 6 feet in the air sitting on eggs. One eggs was right on the edge so my refex was to reach up and grab it..she pecked me! I can't believe it. I want to let her sit but gonna have to sneak up there and screw an board up there to keep eggs from falling out .

Or is it possible to move her and her clutch to safer place....with body armor on of course so I don't get peeked to death :lau

What's your guys professional opinion on what I should do

If it were me I would screw in a 2x4 infront of the edge and give her some bedding, If you're worried about her pecking you i'd just throw a towel on her head.. Works for my broody chickens and turkeys every time I want to check and candle their eggs.

That's not something I would worry about right now.. I've had chickens hatch chicks in the rafters in my barn (28 ft off the ground) Just fine, Once all the chicks were hatched out i'd get a ladder and a bucket to put the chicks in and bring everyone to ground level.. Moma will find another nesting spot on the ground for her chicks and her to sleep in at night.

Ok great advice for both of you. I screwed a 2x4 to keep eggs from falling out . I'll get some bedding up there and then leave her be .
Even if you put a board up there to let her hatch those eggs where she is currently at, how are the chicks going to be able to get down from that 6 feet to the ground?
As for them getting down I hope I'll be there when they hatch and get them down....if not then that's gonna be a pretty long fall...I'll put extra bedding in that area on ground when the time gets close
