Why oh why does this have to happen... RIGHT NOW!
My chickens are so violent.

So here's the scoop:

TinyJR. the orpington, has pecked 2 of her cornish chicks, right behind the eyes. And they are bleeding as well.

HOW PERFECT IS THAT!

All I have done right now is put them in a shoebox (fairly large,)
Put down a cloth followed by some sawdust
gave them food and water.
Put in a source of heat.
OH! YES! and I have brought them into the house!

But i'm worried about the chicks. One of them can't even stand up AND she is at the age were they are supposed to, (2 DAYS OLD)
Are they going to get an infection? How can I help them?

THX!

I had 2 broodies do that yesterday to 2 of their chicks only mine peck the whole sides of the head and eyes out. I had to cull them

I would take any remaining chicks out and bring them in too. Clean the wound and put neosporin on it. Put some electrolyte/vitamin in their water. They are probably hurting and in shock.

And I wouldn't put the hurt chicks in with the others - chickens for some reason love blood, and they could peck them too

I hope they're ok!
