LOL I have cleaned and cleaned their cage and you would never ever know it. Water has to be changed almost hourly. And now they are running around and playing and they sound like a herd of 2 legged buffalo running around. So tomorrow I will start towards moving them out into my old coop: In the foreground, that is not the chicken coop, that's one of our bunny pens. The coop is behind it in the pic.

I will cover the open areas in the middle with a heavy plastic, and then bed them down with shavings and some straw, and a heat lamp.

I feel your pain! I had planned to have my CX outside last week and then the temps dropped from 70s to 30s and we have SNOW....I am soooooo ready for them to be outsid, but I feel bad putting them out in this weather.

Yep we were going to move them this past weekend, but the weather got cold and wet........I've got a 250watt bulb to put in there, so they should be fine. They're just outgrowing everything I have, they're in the biggest cage, that I can bring indoors, now as it is. This coop has a 20 by 16 fenced run too, so when I'm outside (and it's nice out) they can be out too.
Gotta get them moved this week, cause this weekend we're building my big coop!

I feel your pain. I have 7 of them and 2 RIR's in a 5 ft plastic kiddie pool in my spare bedroom/office for 2 weeks. My wife is pushing me to keep them inside till 4 - weeks, but I want my office back!!! So, I plan on kicking em out to the tractor at week three, if possible. Plus, I live in florida so no cold weather here...

ouch. Not that hot here,,, YET! Mid 70's and rainy here in sunny florida...

How do your crosses handle the heat? I'm a bit worried about mine in the next few weeks prior to market/harvest week right now set at mid-may...
