Well on top of the 5 SLW i am getting from a local lovely lady, I am also getting a few from Ideal! So when it is all said and done (and assuming they all make it), I will have:

8 SLW
3 GLW
3 BB

Might have to build a bigger coop!

Thank you! I have heard very good things about them

someone told me they can be a bit standoffish, but I am hoping lots of love and attention will make mine a bit personable

are yours stand offish?

I have 1 each SLW and GLW. The GLW is very friendly and is one of my favorites. She lays a large, sometimes XL, egg nearly every day. It is an interesting shape. It is very long and skinny for it's length. I am uncertain if the SLW is laying or not.

I will be adding another GLW to my flock this year. Hopefully she will be as friendly and good of layer as my current one. In the Wyandotte family I am also getting 3 BLR this year from a local breeder.

I hope these are as nice as the GLW.

My BLRs are the sweetest birds in my flock (and the prettiest I think)!

Good luck!

Ours have been the best. From the time when we first free ranged them they have come when called. In fact each night we have a parade of chickens following my husband to the barn I have horses coming with me and the barn cats are all being entertained!!

That is so funny! I am still not quite sue how my cat Franco will handle things...Although he is indoor, he was a rescue, and always surprises me with how absolutely INTIMIDATING he can be when it comes to small things...A bat actually got into our living room one time, and he pinned it without thinking twice or flinching! It was like, spot it, pounce and kill it...it was crazy!

Needless to say, he will be kept AWAY from the chicks and brooder...

My cats were taught by fierce banty hens Do Not Touch or Die !! All the cats Belived even our indoor diva kitty!
