oh no, accidentally killed a

there has been a persistent tiny red squirrel at the feeder all winter long, has chewed a hole in the screen porch - but even so I felt terrible today when I got home from work and went to check on the chickens....somehow the squirrel got tangled between the electric fence wire and the fence and electrocuted itself.

at least the snow fall kept the chickens away from it - so they didn't get shocked by touching the dead squirrel. not a great thing to come home to.

I've accidentally killed a squirrel before. I felt every bit as bad as you must. Actually, in both cases, yours and mine, the squirrel managed to kill itself. They're nuttly like that. In mine, the squirrel ran kamikaze under my car. It still felt bad.
