Hi all, I have 1-2 day old ducklings. I have been keeping a constant eye on their temperature to make sure that they do not get to hot or cold. Just a bit ago after I adjusted the heat lamp and sat back down it exploded, glass everywhere inside the brooder. I had one duck that got hit on the back of its leg. It bleed for a few seconds and then clotted. It has been up and around on it and I totally cleaned the brooder and put new shavings and food and water in it. Should I be concerned with an infection? I do have some antibiotic here that I have used on the adult ducks just last week (tetracycline). Should I give it to them, and if so how much? UGH This is my very first hatch and all of them made it so I would hate to lose one to something like this. Please Help.
