Is it possible for a Jap quail that is 2 weeks and 6 days old to crow? It was possibly the weirdest noise which I have ever heard and did not at all sound like the previous Jap roos I've owned. I didn't realise they started so young.

Also, at 2AM...

Hmmm. Never heard of that. I'll let more experienced people deal with this one! Sorry I wasn't a big help. It's just that I've never heard of crowing so young. It would start mostly at three weeks at youngest I thought. Maybe I was wrong

It is possible. They can start practicing early. Some birds mature up later and some jump right while in the brooder! Not totally unheard of, however still you might want to wait before making judgement. Chicks male or female can act like each other until mature or close to maturity.
