Oh Nooo! I think I made my duck sick!???! woops wrong place!!

My little runner ducks are about 16 days old, and I let them swim for a bit outside on Thursday. Then again for about 10 minutes inside on Friday. Well now one of them is making a weird noise! Do you think he could ne sick, or is he trying to quack??? I don't know how old they are when they quack!! OHHHH I hope he is not sick!!!

I don't see any reason they should be sick, unless you let them swim in waste water. They've likely just discovered a new noise they can make. Keep an eye out for other symptoms of illness, but I wouldn't worry about a strange vocalization.

No, not waste water! I thought maybe he got a cold or chilled or something. So they can make different noises when they are this young?

if you've never had ducklings before I can only imagine how spooky the sounds they can come up with can be lol. I am sure they are fine and are just amking their happy noises they make.

I've been letting my pair of mallards swim almost daily since htey were a day old.

They are fine and dandy and are so fun to watch and be around.

Mine sound raspy right now but the hen is starting to get her "quack" which you can hear slightly through the raspiness
