She will not be nice to anyone, us or her hen friends, and she will not leave her nest for anything. I purchased some wooden eggs to try to break our egg eater, so I put them in her nest and hubs got brave enough to reach under and retrieve the real ones. She was not happy about it, pecked at him and voiced her concern, but when he was finished she rolled the wooden ones underneath and sat back down. We don't have a roo, so I'm sure she'll give up eventually, but is it ok to just leave her alone now? I don't even witness her eating or anything and she seems thin.

Giving a broody any kind of eggs ~ even wooden ones will not break them, but keep them going. You could get some fertile eggs for her or try to break her by removing her from the nest, and putting her in an elevated wire bottom cage to cool her bottom. Either way you need to make sure she is eating and drinking as some broodies can get really weak.

I have had three broody hens and we just keep taking the eggs from her and try to get her up and out a few times a day to break the habbit! We also put food in the nest with her if we can't get her to stay up! I will also put her at the food and water at least once a day if not more and she will eat and drink then go back to her nest!
