I should change my signature soon. My friend has a hen that hatched 5 chickies and she offered them to me. I told her once they were older, about a month, so that they were wtih their mom a good amount of time. One of her dogs bit one and killed it
, few days later one went missing mysteriously then ANOTHER one
, finally the last two drowned tragically in a pail of water where her dogs drink water 
. If only those two could have waited 10 more days!
I'm really sad now and I'm going to have to buy some instead, which brings up two bad things: the hens may not go broody and greater chance of getting roos. hopefully everything turns out well. poor poor chicks though.
