Hi everyone!! My name's Amanda. I just ordered my first 8 chicks last night from MPC. Hopefully they will be delivered on their supposed ship date.

I have a daughter that will be turning 3 next month and the chicks are her b-day present!! Well....her present and my new job! haha

I am very excited that my Dh is on board with me on this new adventure! He was slightly hesitant at first. We originally discussed getting just 3 chickens. Then we settled on 8! hahahahaha-he's suck a sucker!! I'll be sure to post pics of the sure-to-be creative and unusual coop he puts together. My hubby never goes by the book!

Yea, we were going to get just three at first too. Then we decided on five. We went to the store planning to buy six and came home with a dozen. Two weeks later we went back for eight more of a different breed.......
Chicken fever hits! Be careful! ............
We love the buff orpingtons the best but our rhode island reds are also friendly.
