OK, at two weeks into this, I feel kind of sorry for the poor things.

Let them out of the cage. Trust me, they will nto travel far. I will say there is a nigh and day difference in my meaties from being in the brooder, to being out free ranging on the grass int he sun. They act more like regular chicks now. Well, fat chicks. They wattle around the yard. Take naps in the sun. Visit the shade when they are to hot. Mine do not seem to eat like crazy either. I guess the grass really helps to. Dont get me wrong, if their food dish is cought empty, they will chase me into the house while I fill it up. They love their food. I just think with all the other things they are able to eat, they dont require as much food from me and seem pretty happy. Mine dont seem miserible at all. I am going out to spend time with them right now. They are growing on me and I had hoped they wouldnt. Also, if you have them in a cage in the yard, they are most likey not able to eat much grass because they are pooping in it.
