Ok for my chickens to make friends?

Is it ok for my chickens to hang out with neighbors chicken? The chickens 2 houses down are now chillin in my neighbors yard by our property. Our chickens have been getting close to the property line in our yard. I think they will eventually meet. Thought?

As a general rule it is better if you can keep them apart - diseases & parasites can get passed between the flocks and no one wants that!

Ok. My husband is agains fencing the property and I'm against keeping them cooped up all the time... I don't think there is a rooster just old hens. Assuming they should get along.
