My first time with banty chicks, These are Dell's (TSC) from the straight run. Silly me, not knowing what straight run meant. So I'm very hopeful these are hens :)
They are both 10 weeks old today (June 13, 2012)
The black and grey w/white head I have semi identified as a Serama because it is so ultra small, only comes up to the tummy of the Buff Orps and Barred Rocks born the same day.
I've read even Serama breeders don't like to sex them before 5 months. Peanut is the only one of all the chicks to be getting a real comb.

Brown Sugar, same age, Banty, is a little less than half the size of the Buffs and Rocks (same age). I thought I'd figured out it was a gold sebright, but realized yesterday they don't have feathered legs? So maybe a Belgian Bearded d'uccle? It can puff out its cheeks and neck, so cute...

So.. help me with the breed, and make a stab at pullet or cock? So so beautiful :)

Out of all the chickens I've had, my bantie OEG cocks are my favorite. They are such intelligent, spirited birds and very attentive to their girls. My OEG cocks will fly up onto my arm to get their necks rubbed and the hens will peck the top of my shoe to let me know they would like to be picked up. Very smart birds. I get a batch of banties every year from TSC and I've only ever gotten either OEGs, d'Uccles, or Sebrights. The first year I picked up 16 bantie chicks and 13 turned out to be cockerals.

My thoughts as well.

thank you! Dumb question, and I expect the answer will come to me as soon as I hit submit, but OEGB...means?
And you don't think he is a Serama?
Off to google Silver Duckwing images :)

Housecat: 13 cocks out of 16 chicks... I'd be in so much trouble ;) My husband was in and out of foster homes growing up, and he can't bear to separate out any animals.

OK, old english game bantam. Cool!
the google images for the adult roosters are gorgeous.

The d'Uccle is the most skitterish, and I haven't tried to push it as was afraid it would be male also. If you really think she is a hen, I'll see if I can't soften her up. Tough life but someone has to do it :)
They all do love their dried mealy worms, except Peanut. He just doesn't get it. Looks at the girls like they are from outer space when they start scrambling.

OK, ya'all were correct, little Peanut crowed yesterday (11.5 weeks), a hesitant but clear cock a doodle do. He has bulked up a little bit too, amazing how fast chicks grow.
Too darn cute to be legal.

Thank you again for the breed help too!
