Just wondering--- I have my broody in a heated garage at a consistent 55 degrees--- do I need to provide any additional heat once the chicks hatch or will Momma make sure they are as warm as they should be? Yes, I know this is probably a dumb question but I just had to ask it!

She'll take care of their needs but I understand your concern! You can always put a heat lamp over the area if it will help you to sleep better!

i have a problem with heating lamps or heaters im scared that if i put one out there i will get a fire and ill lose them all i personally think the momma will take care of them but if you are going to do an heating element make sure its completely safe ive read about fires in garages and sheds and its so sad just be very careful.

! I kind of figured so--- otherwise chickens would have gone extinct before the discovery of electricity

It's just that when you order live chicks they make such a huge point of never, ever allowing chicks to get chilled--- common sense prevails--- thanks again!
