I've had chickens my entire life and this one has me stumped. I have 5 EE hens and 2 Japanese Bantam roosters. Almost every day I get 5 blue/green eggs. HOWEVER, about every 8-10 days I get 5 blue/green eggs AND 1 "pink" egg.

So....who is my mystery egg layer? The pink egg is not entirely regular. Sometimes a couple weeks will go by without one. This has been going on for months now and I'm completely at a loss to figure it out.

Is the egg slightly smaller? I had a Sebright hen that would lay a cute little pink egg once a week.

That is my pink bantam egg, with a double yolk and a normal egg laid by my EEs

If the egg isn't bantam sized, the only other guess I could think of is one of the EEs is laying it. I know they can lay pink eggs and sometimes egg color can vary. I have 5 EEs and I get anywhere from an olive colored egg to green, to a really light blue. One of my EEs went overtime and was laying two eggs a day. She stopped after I cut down on food a bit but that's all I can think of.

I've had EE's before who laid pink eggs. However, they can't change what color of eggs they lay.
The pink egg is a full-sized egg.

1000% positive they are roosters. Even if they weren't they are Japanese Bantams, not EEs. We were getting the pink egg before we owned them.

I have wanted the hens to write their initials on their eggs but can't get them to do it. Failing that, I don't know a good way to match up hens and eggs that doesn't require a lot of time or a lot of luck. But I'm certainly hoping someone will suggest one.
