I have 13 duck eggs from Metzer Farms in my incubator on day 28. I put them on lockdown Monday. Wednesday afternoon the first one pipped and I have been seeing some of them rock around and listening to them peeping inside the eggs. I've been getting out of bed every hour or so and sitting by the incubator with my flashlight and holding the bell of a stethoscope against the styrofoam side of the incubator so I can hear them scratching around inside their eggs. This is my first time hatching eggs in an incubator. So far only one of them has pipped, but I can see several others rocking around. I think they are at various stages of development because I don't have a fan in my incubator and I'm pretty sure the temperature was not uniform throughout. If this is going to drag out over several more days I believe I'll go mad.

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. I'm going to try again to get some sleep.
