Ok, what is a dry/wet hatch?

I use the dry method but I still have some humidity in the incubator. I start my eggs with 1/2 cup of hot water in the water trays. This brings the humidity up to around 40%. I monitor the humidity but do not add any more water unless the humidity goes below 25%. On day 18 I add more water to the trays and sometimes have to put wet sponges in the incubator to raise the humidity to 65-70%. People confuse the dry method with no water at all. The eggs do need some humidity. It is considered dry compared to the 50% or more humidity in the wet method. My hatches have been 80-85% on my own eggs so I believe this method works for me.
