I have 6 egg layers (still young, about 7 weeks old) and 2 meat birds of the same age. We just moved all of them into a new coop. I raised them in separate brooders and was feeding the meats a different food from the hens. Now that they are in the same coop, I'm not sure how to feed. The meat birds have one week left before harvest, and I want them to eat grower/finisher feed for that week. Would it be ok if the egg layers ate that too, just for the week? Otherwise, I can't think of how to feed them separately other than to bring the meats back in the house and have them live out their last week in the brooder bins. I was hoping to let them enjoy the outdoors a little longer before I harvest them.
