Hello everyone! I used to be a member years ago, (Like 05-10) and am starting all over with chicks again I needed to come back as I ordered 15 choice layers this spring, got 17 and am not sure what breeds they are!
A little about me! I live in rural northwestern South Dakota on a farm and ranch, and we have a feedlot during the winter!! With all the craziness this year we decided I needed another hobby that can benefit the farm! My in laws live up the hill so they can have fresh eggs too.
We built a coop this spring and they’re enjoying it. After building the coop, there are so many things I’d change about it now!! I’m pretty sure it’s not going to be big enough, and the guys think so as well!! Now they’re planning on building a bigger and better one.
My father in law likes ducks so we added ducks to the coop!!
I’m thinking that project will be this fall, hoping we have a good cattle market.
Usually during the winter time I’m pretty busy in my sewing and quilting table.
I (We) have 3 kids who are all on their own! One grandson that we don’t see nearly enough.
