Old Chick Brooder

Hi I normally raise my cornishx chicks in a brooder I made. This winter I picked up an old factory made brooder, it has multi level 4.5 ft tall top for chicks and lower ones are bigger. There are light sockets in top and ends plus what looks like a hot plate in back of top level. Is there any body who has used one like this? I would like any helpfull information . what kind of lights to use and just an over all how to. I would like to use it but don't want to hurt the chicks because of stupidity. THANKS

personally, I would rewire it. It would be easy and then you wouldnt have any doubts about its security or correctness.

And I would just drop by a feed store, and ask them what watt bulb they use in theirs..
