Hi all,
I have 10 new birds about 4 weeks old at this point and still living in my basement in the brooder box. My plan is to move them out into the coop, which is a partitioned area of my barn, in a few more weeks. I've been working in there lately and realized that it used to be someone else's coop. Given the time we've owned the property, it's been at least 10 years since it would have been used as a coop. I'm planning on washing all the walls and ceiling with bleach water, but the floor is dirt...well, compost. Do I need to be concerned about any diseases still being active in there, or can I proceed with washing, throw down a mess load of bedding and call it a day? Thanks in advance for any help!
