My cousin just had to put their dog down the other day. A 14 year old Australian Shepherd. He was a great dog and they'd been through a lot together. Was there before she got married, before all the kids and after, etc. The dog also taught all of them to walk by grabbing his fur. The oldest is 6 now I think, maybe almost 7. Then like 3? 4? And an almost 2 year old. So it's sad and the oldest especially misses him. They knew the time was coming soon because he was suffering but they weren't expecting it so sudden. He fell down the stairs and shattered his leg and hip. I think the sudden part was a shock and made it sadder.
