Hi all,
I have a small backyard flock, but my favorite bird by far is our bantam Old English Game Hen. I was wondering if anyone in the area has some of these little ladies? Eventually, we'd like to add more of these to our flock. I'd like to find someone within a few hours drive because I don't like the idea of shipping animals.

We have hatched "bantam" eggs from sellers on Ebay but they all grow up to be big (comparatively)! Our OE hen is 7" on her tip-toes AND she is tea-pot shaped-- not one of those up-right ones. She is the world's most adorable mini-chicken with a great personality; I can't find any other birds like her.

Thanks,
Caroline

From now until the end of summer state and county fairs are starting up. You would find all kinds of chickens and breeders there. A lot of the 4H'ers are usually looking to sell a few birds (and/or other animals), and you can find pretty good deals. You can also get information about chickens there. Well worth a trip to " the fair".
