Hi so I gave an older hen I'm not quite sure how old i think she might be around three, she did this a while back and we took her to the vet and they couldn't find anything wrong, right after she seemed like her normal self, since we've added four new hens, but again my old hen has stopped eating, stopped scratching at the ground except briefly, she's sleeping a lot even during the day, she'll just stay in a corner not really moving sometimes she'll follow the other hens around but then just stop and watch them , I'm not really sure what's going on, she's also getting thin I have a 50 x90 ft yard they are able to wander most of it it's fenced in, we had thought it might be something in the horse compost we'd gotten for the garden but we've since fenced it off so they can't get in since one of my hens besides her had gotten sick too, any ideas would help, we had thought we were getting her and a couple others from a backyard farm but after taking her to the vet they said she'd had her beak cut so I'm pretty sure that she was an industrial laying hen early on anyway.

Also I forgot to add she's mostly keeping her head tucked close to her body when she's still

sounds like something I recently went through myself. I received a hen from another flock only for it to die about 2 months later necropsy said mareks. My hen went down hill slowly. I hope this is not the case for your hen my vet said nothing was wrong with her but gave us antibiotics to try didn’t work obviously.

Oh boy. Tough one with the information given. I have many questions which will help narrow it down. Have you checked for mites or lice? Any discharge from the eyes or nose? Any sneezing? Any crackling or raspiness when she breathes? What does her poop look like? Is her crop empty in the morning and full at night? Is she pale? Is the inside of her mouth healthy or are there plaques in there? When did she last lay an egg? Any discharge from her vent? What do you feed? Did you quarantine her after bringing her home? What was her previous home like? Does she smell badly? What is your coop and bedding like? Where do you get their water? I would separate her in a dog crate and get her on a vitamin and electrolyte supplement to start. This way you can monitor her closely. You can try feeding her things like scrambled eggs, wet mash feed, and yogurt to boost her appetite.

I've had her for 6 months this started about a month and a half ago after a couple days we took her to the vet who couldn't find anything wrong, she seemed to recover started eating and scratching and behaving normally she stopped laying two months ago, this time it's worse than last time, now she's become so thin I can feel every bone in her neck, her comb is shriveling on part and drooping, her poop today was liquidy and bubbly I don't know what's going on but I don't think she's going to last more than a couple days were probably going to have her put down tomorrow. Her companion that I got with her is fine and hasn't shown any symptoms, I had a young hen I got as a chick when I got them and she appeared to have same thing and ended up dying because of liquid from her crop suffocating her, this hen has a very liquid feeling very full crop

Could she have sour crop?

Hello everyone, thank you for your help and support, yesterday we took her to the vet to be put down, the vet said she had some lump in her stomach, they didn't test it but she suspected it had been cancer.
