Old log in the pen

Is it safe to put an old log in our chicken pen? I'm trying to think of different kinds of chicken entertainment.

Yep ~ I have an old tree stump/root in mine. They climb all over it and fine bugs under and around it. I also have a lot of large rocks in the run ~ they come with the land here!

I have a few stumps in my run, so I think they'd like a log....

The chickens really like it if you go out and roll it over every few days, that way they can get the bugs that were hiding underneath. When they see you walk up to the log they'll start going crazy

great idea! Mine have a few large rocks on their run. They love to play "king of the hill" on them. I think mine would love on old log. Also we put a couple bars in the run and our flightier birds perch on them.
