I'm here to announce my presence on Back Yard Chickens. I recently got back into the chicken game. I raised chickens as a child but have not had any foul in quite some time. I ordered the 25 variety pack from McMurry in April. My chicks arrived and I have been so happy with them. It was quite nice getting so many different breeds of chickens, watching them grow and then trying to figure out what the are. My chickens were growing quite well and I was enjoying them around the farm. I have three horses, three cats, a gorgeous dog "Pearl" that is the love of my life. About two weeks ago disaster struck. Coons found a week spot in the coop and killed all but six of my beloved chickens. I was heart broke.

I have since then built a new and improved fortress for my birds and ordered a variety pack of 15 bantam chicks. I just love the little guys and 5 Black Australorps which I have decided are my fav large chicken. I'm currently waiting their arrival and cant wait for them to grace my life.

Good luck with your new ones. I'm sorry you had a tragedy, sometimes we learn the hard way. At least you know they will be safe now.
